BackgroundDentists may choose to integrate intraoral scanners (IOSs) into their practices, but there are many different IOS technologies and system generations from, posing a challenge for dentists who want invest in them.MethodsA survey of use rates, advantages, satisfaction, training was developed deployed through Qualtrics the 968 members American Dental Association Clinical Evaluators (ACE) Panel on February 19, 2021. Nonrespondents were sent reminders, data analyzed SAS Version 9.4 (SAS).ResultsA total 369 panelists responded survey. split among ACE Panel; 53% indicated they one practice. The top reason respondents began using IOSs improve clinical efficiency (70%). Ninety percent single tooth-supported crowns, 58% less than 4 years ago. Most users at least mostly satisfied (91%) with results. Among nonusers, not an high level financial investment (66%); 34% 40% nonusers thinking buying or 2021, respectively.ConclusionsUptake is split; most results, cited barriers as common investing one.Practical ImplicationsAs continue penetrate market faced decision whether one, will need guidance how appropriate device patients.
